upload of photos from ipad to icloud

I have just updated my (old?) ipad - and got a suggestion to get more space by uploading photos (ca. 750 transferred from my old ipad - one long list) to icloud. It does not work - i asked in the shop where I bought the Ipad - he suggested that i got rid of an app (250 MB) - I did that - and it says "loading" for two days. I got read of one more app - now ca. 500 MB - and it still does not work.

I hope someone can help me here.

Hi Gittesn,

Thanks for updating us about your issue. Low device storage can cause some performance issues to arise, which could be preventing your photos from uploading properly into iCloud.

If you haven't already, we'd recommend checking out How to check the storage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. You'll want to reevaluate your storage and see if there are other items you can remove for now instead. Remember that you can always redownload an app after it's been deleted.

You mentioned that you've attempted to upload 20 photos into iCloud, can we ask how you're attempting this? Or do you mean that you're simply trying to add more photos to your iPad? Once iCloud Photos is enabled, the upload process is automatic. If the upload is still stuck for you, you can attempt to toggle iCloud Photos off and then on again from your Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Photos.

Thanks for reaching out in the Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're looking to enable iCloud Photos, but your photos aren't being uploaded into iCloud. Are you looking to enable this feature due to an issue with low storage space? Are you experiencing any other issues with your iPad?

Have you signed into iCloud to see if any of your photos have uploaded here yet? This will let you confirm if the upload is still in progress or if it may be stuck.

It is a matter of low storage place on the ipad. I have signed into icloud to see if any photos have arrived - and no.

I have read andd tried all sorts of things.

My photos were transferred to the Ipad from an earlier Ipad - and in one large quantity - that may be part of the problem. I have tried to upload a smaller amount (20) - but no luck.

I can of course simply get rid of my photos - I hardly ever see them - but they represent more than 20 years of travel.

I still hope for a solution.
