Set Custom Ringtone

Hi! I've followed all the steps to transfer a custom ringtone to my iPhone 11 outlined in this support page:

I converted my sound clip from mp3 to m4r and dragged and dropped it to my iPhone. It currently appears in my Music app. However, when I go to Sounds and Haptics, it still doesn't appear in the list of ringtones to choose from. What should I do? Thanks!

Making Custom Ringtones from Music I used to be able to create a custom ringtone for my iPhone by creating a 30-second clip of any song, converting it to an .m4r file, and loading it onto the phone. I have gotten as far as making the .m4r and it is sitting on my desktop, but I cannot figure out how or even if I can put it on my phone. I just tried syncing the library and it wiped out all my old custom ringtones from music. Is this no longer possible, has Apple made it mandatory to purchase ringtones? Any help is appreciated.

How do I get my custom ringtones and alert sounds to appear as Ringtone options in Settings>Sounds & Haptics on my iPhone 11 Pro? Heya! I have transferred my m4r files to my iPhone 11 Pro (iOS 16.0.2). They are in my Files and appear in my Music library. But when I try to reset my ringtones and alert sounds via Settings>Sounds & Haptics, they are nowhere to be found. I've searched Discussions but haven't found an explanation or a solution. Add a ringtone I created to my Iphone from my MacBook Pro IOS 14.0 I can't figure out how to add a ringtone to my Iphone after upgrading to IOS 14.0. I created it the way I usually do, it has the suffix "m4r" and should be ready to go, but it won't work. I drag it into a window that is for syncing my iPhone, and it lights up with a green "plus" sign, but the tone doesn't show up in my ringtones on the phone. I did a new ringtone a couple of months ago and just dragging it to the window worked back then. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Brian

Music app?

Use Mac's Garage Band to make your custom ringtone then upload it to your iPhone.

Is the ringtone under 40 seconds?

How did you convert the clip?

Yes, it is. I opened it in the Music app and converted it to AAC. Then I changed the file extension to .m4r.
