Showed 1.75 miles for a 3.5 (or more) mile trek this morning.

Given that the distance does not seem to increase when rolling, it appears to now using step

based distance calculation. It does however produce a correct route map, so its not that gps (location services) is turned off or not working.

I rebooted the watch (series 5) and the iphone and ran some additional tests....

eg, I can get it to show distances of hundreds of feet by running in place. definitely not gps.

It (outdoor run) had been working great for blading since it was changed from step based to gps based (about a year ago ?). However it works now is not useful.

It seems 'outdoor cycle' is (still) gps based and looks to give accurate distance for blading. but it does not give the 'rolling mile' and 'average mile' info that is preferable.

anyone else experience anything like this ?

if so, whats the best solution.

thanks
