shared map collections not working

I have created a Collection in Apple Maps. It all works fine. I now want to share this collection with several people. I click the share button at the bottom. The person on the other end gets a picture of apple maps followed by a long url of the collection locations. The person on the receiving end clicks on either the picture or the URL and it just takes them to an Apple Map website. It does not allow the person to open the Collection in Apple Maps. Why? All users are running iOS 14 and above. Is there a way to import the data into Apple Maps since the link does not work?

Are you updated to iOS 14.7.1? You can find the version in Settings > General > About.

I am using the share button at the bottom of a collection in Apple maps. It shares fine, but the receiving person can’t do anything with it. Again, did you test it?
