I am creating a iPhoto slideshow with a vintage print theme. While I understand that with themes, transitions etc are set by default. Ive no issues with those, but I have a few photos of people; and the slide starts from the head to the legs which is not ideal. Is there a way to reverse this?

In photos slideshow, you have no control about how a slide is animated.
You could try moving the picture to a different location in the show and see if Photos changes the direction of movement.
Alternatively you can use iMovie to set up a slideshow. But there is much more work involved - everything done manually.

If you use the Ken Burns theme you can control the beginning and ending location of the image. All other animated themes are preset.
If you're on Mac OS11 then this will be a Photos query not an iPhoto one. I'll ask this be moved to the correct forum.
