picture on computer screen is difficult to see

My desktop macOSBigSur screen has recently lost it's clarity and brightness, it's now darkened and is difficult to see what's on the screen. My computer knowledge is limited and would really appreciate suggestions on how I might fix this problem.

Internal display not detected Okay so I put my laptop to sleep and when I opened it again my macbook won't detect internal display, I attached a hdmi cable and it worked perfectly (on the external screen). I'm not sure why my internal screen isn't visible. I performed multiple operations to fix it. Hard reset, installed mac OS again. Everything. Nothing worked. Programs not covering the screen All of my programs open covering only about 80% of the screen. I know how to make them bigger but I want them to open that way. I'm not talking about full screen, I just want them to extend to the sides. 2018 MacBook Pro with Ventura 13.1

macOS Ventura flickering screen I updated my Macbook Air M1 to Ventura on Monday 24 Oct. Within a few hours my screen started to flicker. I rebuild the machine using a USB drive (Create a bootable installer for macOS - Apple Support) After a few hours it started again. I notice this happens when I am using IntelliJ Idea Ultimate. Has anyone else encounter this issue? Perhaps when doing something that will use up a lot resources? I don't mind going back to Monterey I just hate the long process of rebuilding/setting up a machine.

Under System Preferences click Displays and adjust brightness. This presents an excellent opportunity to start learning about the device you bought.
