iPad Air 4th Gen not turning off / sleeping when closed in Magic Keyboard

I’m using an IPad Air 4th Gen with the Magic Keyboard (for use with IPad Air 4 / IPad Pro 11). Noticed that in the past few months, it’s battery is always draining. Couldn’t figure out why. Just noticed that when I close it, the IPad is not going to sleep… the screen stays on, and the battery just slowly dies. What’s going on here?

The key is when you stated that the iPad is not going to sleep when Magic Keyboard case is folded and closed. This means that the Auto-Lock/Unlock when the cover/keyboard is closed is not working.

Open Settings ➔ Display & Brightness ➔ Lock/Unlock : Ensure that this is set to ON.

If the above setting is correct and the issue persists then detach the iPad from the Magic Keyboard and try and force restart the iPad as shown below:

Force restart iPad

Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button and keep it pressed until Apple logo appears, release the button.
