safari "from macbook" showing old tabs that have been closed

on my iphone when i scroll down in safari to see currently open tabs on my macbook, i instead see old closed tabs. this also has started happening on my macbook, with the "from iphone" section displaying old closed tabs. i've tried to reopen and close the tabs but nothing seems to get rid of them.

If I open a new tab it adds to the list and will disappear after the tab is closed. In addition when I one tabs on the iPhone they are available in macOS Safari on the computer. I have cleared my history and website data on the iPhone and on the MacBook Pro but this remains. Does anyone have any recommendation to get rid of these tabs?

iPad icloud tabs won't close on Safari mac On Safari Start Page on Mac, shows many tabs open on iPad Safari. But they are old pages long since closed. I close the tabs on the Mac, but they reappear. I've had this happen before for a few pages, but never for pages that go back months ago. Any suggestions?

Safari automatically reopens a previous session I’m having issues with Safari in my iPhone XR with iOS 15.5. Each time I reopen the app the tabs that appear are those of a particular previous session, both in “normal” and “private” mode. This makes me unable to open new tabs and let them “stored” for reading afterwards. The session that is reopened is that of Tuesday morning and I do not remember doing anything strange/different as usual. I already turned off the sync of Safari with iCloud, but the situation remains. Does anyone experience/ed something similar or know how to fix it?

In all devices, but particularly the phone, in iCloud settings do you have Safari toggled on?

(In Phone - Settings, your name, iCloud, Safari n'off)
