iPad Air 4 Detected by Windows 10 but Not Connecting to iTunes (or other applications)

Hello,

I recently bought an iPad Air 4 and it works great but I am unable to connect it to my windows 10 desktop. Upon connecting it the iPad asks every time to verify if I want to connect to the computer and when pressing yes and putting in my password, nothing happens. Going into the device manager I very clearly see that windows are detecting the device but it seems like it isn't communicating.

Some of the things I've tried are:

I can't seem to find anyone else having this issues which is extremely anoying since it worked perfectly fine with my previous iPad mini 2 and still works with my iPhone 8.

If it helps in anyway, here is what I have in my computer:

  • MSI B450 Tomahawk Max
  • Ryzen 2700x
  • EVGA GTX 3070

So I had followed this previously and didn't have success. It turns out I had to slightly modify the steps and do the following:

  • Download the drivers linked in this article https://www.technipages.com/itunes-fix-iphone-or-ipad-not-detected-in-windows (because they weren't showing up in the folder in the linked in the guide)
  • Inside of device manager, I went under Universal Serial Bus Devices and opened up the driver update menu for "Apple Mobile Device USB Composite Device" > select manual installation > I have a disk > select the folder and install the new drivers
    • If it gives an error saying the driver is incompatible try doing the same steps above but with the "Apple Mobile Device USB Device"
  • Replug in the device and it started communicating and now (there should now be a new device under "Universal Serial Bus controllers" labeled "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" like in the tutorial)

Following those steps should fix the issue!
