My PASMO cannot be used for payment though it is under express transit. How can this be fixed?

Prior to my return to Tokyo, I was able to use Suica and PASMO app on apple wallet with no issues. No I cannot use either card under express transit and cannot use either card to pay for items either. How can this be remedied?

iPhone 8, iOS 14

We see that you've already viewed Using Suica or PASMO on iPhone or Apple Watch in Japan. Let's also be sure to check your device region and other requirements listed under the "What you need to create a Suica or PASMO card in the Wallet app" section here:


Set up a Suica or PASMO card in Apple Pay - Apple Support


If it's still not working, you may want to try removing the card and adding it back to Wallet.

1) Check the Express Transit setting to make sure it is on, 2) if you still have problems remove the Suica from Wallet and re-add it. The card balance is preserved and will show when re-adding. If you are using iOS 14 and the Suica/PASMO add card option does not show, change iPhone region to Japan and try again. You can restore the region setting to your preference after the card is re-added.
