Calorie accuracy

I set the workout for indoor cycling when I take a spin class. I have my height and weight set on the watch. In a 50 minute class, I average around 15 miles, but it only registers around 250 calories. I am working really hard with a lot of resistance on the bike and this seems really low. A friend, who is not as strong as I am. shows that she burns 450 calories in the same class. Why is my watch recording such a low number? When I google "calories burned in a spin class, it says "45-minute indoor cycling workout can burn 350- 600+ calories"

It appears you're wondering why a workout didn't burn as many calories as you were expecting. You'll want to make sure that your iPhone and Apple Watch are both fully updated:


You can also try restarting both devices and seeing if that helps.


Also, you can see if calibrating your Apple Watch helps, along with a good fit:
