Hi, I use WhatsApp and recently I realised that it was saving all my photos to the photos app. I already checked that i turned off “automatically download media” many times yet it is still saving my photos. How do I stop this?

Go to Whatsapp Settings then select chats and the turn off "Save to Camera Roll"

WhatsApp is not an Apple product, best you ask the app developer on their website/forum for support.
