icloud email

Both my wife and I are having a problem downloading emails from icloud. From my imac I get this message: There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account “iCloud” or try again.


The server returned the error: Connections to the server “p59-imap.mail.me.com” on the default ports timed out.


I have checked the settings which are all okay. My wife gets the same problem from her ipad with her icloud email.


Other email addresses on my mac are working normally. Have not been able to connect with icloud for emails for three days now.


this problem is only on our "mail" apps. I can get icloud online okay to read our emails there.


Any problem solving ideas appreciated.

This problem now seems to have disappeared. this evening my icloud emails have started to get through again. Please ignor the question now.
