How to get migration assistant to finish or cancel

I saw that you’ve cancelled a migration you attempted over WiFi. Here are a few tips to get back on track:
You can try to migrate again but delete the partially migrated account that now exists. The easy way to do this is to create a new account and make it an administrator account. Log into this new admin account, go to Users & Accounts. Select that partially migrated account and select delete. You’ll be asked if you want to keep or delete the data. Delete it.
To redo the migration, first, don’t attempt to use WiFi again. It is way too slow. Years ago my boss asked me to investigate the best/most reliable way to migrate and nothing has changed to make me alter my assessment. It is using a TimeMachine backup as your source. If you are practicing safe computer ownership you already have the backup. If you don’t you really need to start! It isn’t a matter of if your computer will fail at some point. It is a matter of when.
IF you are attempting to use WiFi stop the process and follow the steps in Setup Assistant and Migration Assistant
How are you transferring your data?
Jack
Via WiFi, we stopped it
Thanks for all the advice now sorted
