iPhone Battery

I recently updated my 2018 iPhone 8 to the new 14.7.1 software and ever since my battery drains within a couple of hours. I used to have to charge it twice a day at most and now within 2 hours the battery is down to 50% while I barely use it. Is there any way I can fix this?

Hello,

Anytime a new software version is installed, there are maintenance tasks such as reindexing that can take awhile. It should settle down in a few days.

In the meantime, these are the standard steps for short battery life:

1) Have you tried a restart?  If not, do it now.

2) Go to Settings > Battery > BATTERY USAGE BY APP to see the apps that are consuming your battery.

3) Check “Battery Health” in the link:

iPhone Battery and Performance

4) If all else fails, consider a battery replacement:

iPhone Battery & Power Repair

Good luck.
