Sound library missing in Logic Pro X

I have managed to mess up my Sound Library somehow. Have deleted Logic Pro multiple times and when I restart it tells me that it can't find the Sound library. Having trouble finding out where it is looking or would reinstall if I could, but when I go to reinstall (all other buttons greyed out including relocate or the sound library manager) nothing is being installed. It seems to go through the initial motions, asking from my Macbook admin password as if it is going to try to make a change but then nothing is downloading.

Is there a way of downloading out of the program the Sound Library, placing it in the expected location (if I could find) and then restarting Logic Pro X.

Been struggling with this for two days, deleting, reinstalling and so on. Have deleted every know preference file for both Logic Pro and GarageBand and it still loads up as if there is a remnant somewhere. not loading like a fresh install.

thanks for your help in advance.

Hi,

The Sound library is normally located in ~/Library/Application Support/Logic

If at some time you relocated the Library the "Logic" icon will be an alias. To find the location of the alias just Get Info on the icon and look for the "Original" location.

If files cannot be installed to the location this could be the issue. I suggest:

1) Confirm the location and try and fix any issues.

2) Check disk permissions and fix any issues.

3) There may be a Corrupt preferences files.  You can rebuild the preferences file within Logic but you will need to reset all your personal preference settings. If you have set any custom key commands, this will reset them to the defaults.

Quit logic

The file is in  ~/Library/Preferences

Delete  com.apple.logic10.plist  file from the Preferences folder.

The preference files will be rebuilt next time Logic starts.

Hope this helps.
