Problems with Genius & iTunes Store

Keep getting this message

I thought iTunes no longer existed and it was now Apple Music apart from iTunes Store option in sidebar of Music. Threads which are several years old give solutions but seem to be from when it was iTunes, not Apple Music. Demented as my Mac & iPhone won't sync despite being set up to do so and I have to continuously re authorise my Mac to play certain songs even if I have authorised these specific songs already. Is there any point in contacting apple about this as from what I have read this is a known issue but its still happening? Not very technical so I could well be missing something but thought apple was supposed to be intuitive etc. Seems to make simple things difficult as far as I can see. Can anyone explain in simple terms what I should do?
