Max duration of audio message

There is no limit to audio messages mentioned in Send photo, video, or audio messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support or Send photos, videos, and audio messages on iPhone - Apple Support however, it is possible that there could be one.

If you need to record a message longer than it allows, recording and sending a Voice Memo instead is an option to consider:
