Where are my advanced printer settings?

I'm trying to print a black-and-white line drawing on my Canon TR8500, but some of the thinner lines are being printed out in magenta (I guess the printer is interpreting them as gray? I really have no idea how any of this works, I'm sorry). I want to access my advanced printer settings so I can turn color printing off completely as recommended by all the troubleshooting forums I've perused over the past hour. I can't find anything of the sort, only simple settings in both my printer preferences in Settings and the menu that opens up when I'm trying to print the drawing from the Preview application.

Greetings hugegrape,

We understand that you’re looking for settings for your printer.

When in the Preview app and opening the printer dialog, do you see an option for ‘Presets’? It will be near the top under ‘Printer’. For a reference, it is visible in the screenshot in the article Choose advanced print settings on Mac

If you click on that are you able to choose an option for the color or black and white?

Thanks.
