Night Shift configuration on external display

I'm having trouble with Night Shift on my external display setup (Samsung S80UA via USB type c). When Night Shift is on, the display has a pinkish tint rather than the normal Night Shift color. I can only turn on/off nightshift for both displays and the color temperature adjustment is universal (albeit the external responds very differently from the built-in display). Is there a way for me to adjust the color temperature separately for the external display or have my Mac automatically switch to a different color profile for the external display when Night Shift is enabled?

Thank you!

When you do Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Displays, it will have a secondary copy of the system preferences open on the second display. This controls the settings for that display. Some displays may not be aware of all the peculiar settings of Apple Colorsync. The only third party displays I'm familiar have full Colorsync awareness are ViewSonic and NEC.
