Screentime and Google Chrome

Following a suggestion in this forum, I went to chrome://flags/ to enable screentime on my children's devices since they use Google Chrome for school and they have macbooks. This worked, in the sense that it finally limited my kids from being able to access chrome during downtime but now they cannot even use it. They can type in web addresses and visit them but they cannot click on anything, including the log in buttons for school. When i go to try to disable it, I cannot click on it since I cannot click on ANYTHING on a website and when I try it from another device, the Screentime option is gone from the flags as if it did not even exist. They can use google chrome in guest mode and it works fine but that is super obnoxious. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling repeatedly and changing all kinds of things within Chrome and I cannot get this fixed. Please help.
