Apple Pencil tip

Ijust bought replacement tips for my Apple Pencil, but there is a large visible gap when I screw them in and the screen doesn’t recognize the pencil. It looks like the replacement tips have a bigger screwing part (hard to tell in photo). Are these faulty tips?

If the plastic tip broke off inside of that Pencil, you need to find a way to get that piece out of there.

That piece still left in there is preventing the metal tip in the Pencil tip from making contact with the Pencil’s metal transducer tip to be able to make electrical contact to function.

Failing that, IF your Pencil is still under its free, one-year warranty, You need to search online for your nearest, “local” Apple store location and call contact phone numbers and call to make an appointment to have your Pencil replaced with another new Pencil.

Good Luck to You!

I looked inside of my own Pencil and I have NO white ring pieces stuck around the Pencil;s metal transducer tube/rod.

Part of the original screw end ring of an the Pencil's tip is still stuck in your Pencil and it looks as if that ring section is broken in smaller pieces.

Every time you replace your Pencil's tip, you are going to need to sand down the surface of the screw end of your Pencil replacement tip.
