Mac Won't Proceed After Login

I have a MBP mid-2012. I updated it to the latest available OS update. After the update, I lost access to the internet. I attempted rebooting but it no longer continues and was just stuck at a gray screen after logging in.

My goto fix is to reinstall the OS so I did that but now it no longer proceeds after the loading bar for logging in gets completed. The screen is just stuck there until the display times out and the Mac doesn't respond to any input. I can no longer reinstall OS or enter recovery mode because it comes back with an error "No admin account found". Safe mode is not working as well.

Hoping that someone can help me.

I'm afraid I can no longer go to recovery because of this error "This volume has no admin users to authenticate. Please select another volume."

I might suspect your drive has failed.

If you have an external boot clone as part of your backup plan, Try booting off that bypassing the internal HD as a test.

Like wise you can boot from a Time Machine back up and use the Disk Utility there—

Disk Utility> run the First Aid on your Macintosh HD If errors are found and repaired, run again until no errors reported.

Disk Utility>View>Show All Devices The best sequence is —

• Volume level

• Container level

• Parent drive

3-2-1 Backup Strategy: three copies of your data, two different methods, and one offsite.

In or out of warranty you can get a free over the counter 'Apple Service Diagnostics' test /assessment

If your Mac starts up to a blank screen (white, black, gray, or blue)
