If you're seeing the below screen on your Intel-based Mac, a firmware password is set. This is different from your login password, and is disabled by default.



If you don't know the firmware password, you'll need to set up a hardware repair with an Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. You can set up a repair by contacting Apple Support.
