Apple Pencil 2nd generation Not working
I have had an Apple Pencil 2 gen. For just over a year now and last night I tried to get it to write on my iPad and it wasn’t responding I assumed it was dead since I was using it a lot for a drawing just under an hour ago. I tried to get it to charge and when the little widget dropped down it said 60% then suddenly dropped to 2%. So I left it there to charge and after 15 minutes it still said 2% so I though maybe it’s an issue with my iPad. I restarted it and then when I docked the pencil again it said 100%, I thought the issue was fixed but when I tried to write still unresponsive. I checked the nib, nope fully screwed on. The. Realized it was a connection issue because then I docked it again the apple pencil widget appeared and would just pulse between dark grey and white. Then about 30 seconds later another widget with the battery would drop down then I would go to the settings and it says connected but the second I remove it from the magnet it disconnects, then it would reconnect for a split second then disconnect. Now it rarely even does that. I have tried everything I could find. (Listed below)
- Charge (it is fully charged)
- Go to settings forget this device and then re-pair it. (Nothing.)
- Restart iPad (I got it to work for half a second which is why I know the nib doesn’t need to be replaced. But then it stopped working again)
- Force restart (click up volume, down volume, power button until apple logo shows. Still nothing.)
- Reset network settings (nothing.)
I don’t know what to do. There is no apple store where I live so I can’t just bring it in. Do I just need to give in and buy a new one. I NEED to have this pencil on a daily basis for work.
