Pages: Start "Page 1" after intro pages

I am writing a book with title page, forward, and introduction. I want the next page to have numbering starting with "Page 1". I found an old question exactly the same as this. The only answer posted suggested at "Insert" menu, choose "Section". This creates an blank additional page that I can't delete. What is the correct way to start page numbering after some initial pages?

The suggestion offered previously is correct for some circumstances, but perhaps not for yours.


Here's an alternative:


Click at the end o the text on the last page before the page you want ot be 'page 1'.

From the insert menu, choose Section Break.


Click anywhere on the first page of the new section.

Open the Section panel of the Document inspector.

Set the section to NOT match the previous section, and page numbering to start with 1.
