podcast/mp3 conversion

Hello -- How can I convert an Apple podcast on my Mac to an MP3 file? I use Big Sur 11.5 2.

The sites and Apple discussions on this are 10 years old an do not apply to Big Sur.

I'm asking because the current version of Apple Podcasts is very clunky and I want to bypass it by converting podcasts to MP3 files that I can enter into Apple iTunes. Some websites (BBC, Patreon) let you do this, but I want to be able to do it with all my Apple podcasts.

Changing mp3 files so that they appear in podcasts and not music With iTunes becoming Music version 1.1.6.37 on Mac (Big Sur), I have not had success in being able to import podcasts that I have downloaded off websites (some older Dan Carlin stuff). The podcasts still appear in Music and when I right click and go to "get info" --> Options --> Media Type, the only thing present in the drop down is "Music". Anyone have a fix? I'd prefer it to be in the podcast app so when I push it to my iPhone, it appears there and I can mess with the playback speed.

Mp3 to Podcast I would like to listen to some Mp3 files on Podcast. I have found them in Music, but it will not allow me to change the media type from Music to Podcast. Any suggestions?

convert apple music files to mp3 in Music on Mac I followed the Apple instructions to convert music files that I have bought to mp3 but when I get to the last step: "Select one or more songs in your library, then choose File > Convert > Create [format] Version" the file formats are greyed out so not available to choose.
