how to prove a cracked screen is manufacturing defect to get warranty coverage?

recently bought my mom a new iPad Air. within the first couple weeks she found a big crack across the screen. she procrastinated and took it in just before apple care off was going to expire (~58 days after purchase) and store employee said it's not covered. how does one prove it's manufacturing issue and how do we escalate when the store doesn't agree? thanks for any advice.

The only option left to you is to escalate this issue.

However, you need to realise that proving a cracked screen is a manufacturing defect and NOT some fault of its users,is going to be be extremely, if not virtually, impossible to prove.

If you did not purchase extended, two-year+ AppleCare+ for this expensive iPad, then if you cannot prove a manufacturing defect/issues with iPad Air 4 touch screens, then I am afraid that a replacement device is going to be expensive to purchase.
