I have 'blocked Contacts' in Gmail/Junk Mail on my Apple Mail account on both my iMac, MacOS Big Sur and my iPadOS 14,8, but, I still receive emails from those senders. The new mail states that mail is from a a blocked Sender. Is there something else I need to do or is there an Apple doc which will guide me through the process to stop the crap that comes through Gmail?

Use Apply Rules to block e-mail from sites you don't want to receive mail from. Just route it to the Trash. Another option is unsubscribe from the sites, you clearly got on their mailing list so look on the bottom of a message and then look for a link that asks if you want to unsubscribe, this occurs with most advertisements.
Blocking a sender in Apple mail does not really block the sender. At best it will send it to the junk folder. Not really very good.
I have the same issue. Just started with many "fake" messages through Gmail. I have tried to contact the home email system but that is fake as well. The issue appears to be Gmail related but..... That might just be my opinion. Anyway, it would be nice to be able to block them or turn them off.
So, in other words, this is a worthless option that serves no purpose at all?
