13 in MacBook Pro (2017) Screen went black and restarted during a virtual health appointment

Hi, my Mac laptop screen went completely dark during a virtual health appointment, and then force restarted my computer. I lost valuable time at this appointment because of this. Below is what the error report says, can anyone help me understand why this happened? I did have an external hard drive plugged in when the incident occurred.

Specs: MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports) using Mac OS Big Sur 11.4

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.4

Post several other Kernel Panic logs if they are available so we can see if there are any patterns. The Kernel Panic logs can be found in "/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports" with the file name beginning with "kernel" and ending in ".panic". The only thing the single panic report tells me is SMB file sharing is involved perhaps in relation to Google Drive which may be the problem or a connected external drive.

To look for possible software issues run EtreCheck and post the report here using the "Additional Text" icon which looks like a piece of paper.

Run the Apple Diagnostics to see if any hardware issues are detected.

See if your laptop qualifies for either of these two free Apple repair programs. If your laptop may qualify, then you should definitely have Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider examine the laptop to confirm eligibility.
