Apple watch auto pause function

i have the option auto pause set for workouts. When i start a walking or cycling workout, everything works well, but when i manually activate pause, the workouts do not restart automatically when moving again, until you push the resume button, sometimes very frustrating if you take a longer pause. Can ‘t the apple watch detect automatically that you are moving again when in a workout session ?

i also don ‘t think that auto pause works each time, but maybe i don t understand how it works 😀
