Apple Mail not saving messages

First, I want to apologize for not following up on my original question. I have been ill for several weeks.

I have folders to save important messages in such as Church, Photos, Family, etc. When I drag them to a folder after reading them.... they just disappear. Will I ever see them again? I have quit trying to put them in the folders but this is junking up my Inboxes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I will try to help you if I can explain it correctly. Open one of the folders you have saved messages in. At the very top to the right of the title of your folder you will see a circle with three horizontal lines. If it is the color red, click on it and see what happens. When I did it, the circle turned white and my messages appeared. I had to open every folder and click the red dot. Let me know if it works for you. A nice lady at Apple Support told me about this. Good luck, stay safe and healthy.
