When updating an app AppStore asks for password from previous owner ID

When I try to download updates for apps the AppStore takes me to a separate screen asking for a password, then shows a pop up message that ID or Password is wrong (it’s not). Only action offered “forgot password”, so after pressing it shows me previous owner’s id and therefore wants the password from it.

I tried logging off my ID everywhere and logging in again, trained erasing all settings in iPhone to original, restarting the phone. I checked all apps to be on my name, deleted some for just in case. I tried all suggestions I could find online and yet I face the same problem.

what to do?

Delete the app that is asking you to do this. It requires the Apple log-in information for the account that downloaded it. Download it with your account.

If you cannot find the app you may have to try resetting the phone and then restore it to see what refuses to download.
