New Power Mac won't start up

My husband bought a new Power Mac and he unfortunately passed away without telling me anything about it. I want to contact Apple Support but in order to do so I need the serial number of the machine. I don't know where to find it and according to the info on Apple's website, it should be on the underside of the machine but I don't see any number there. Can anyone who has a new Power Mac tell me where to find the serial number...and/or tell me why it won't start up.

Mac Pro, OS X 10.11

Moue and keyboard are battery powered.

Are they switched on? is the battery charged? That battery can be charged by plugging in with a USB-C to Lightning cable. While the cable is plugged in to the computer, the keyboard is also allowed to be used as a Wired keyboard.

You say Power Mac, but Power Macs were last produced over 15 years ago.

Can you please identify your mac.

Click on the link below,

Identify your Mac Pro model - Apple Support

Are you able to start the mac up and access it, if so click on the top left of the screen.

Click on About This Mac, this will tell you the model and year of your mac, you

will also see the serial number.

If it is a MacPro the serial number is at the back where the cables plugin, you should see a little grey

sticker with very small white lettering which includes the serial number. You may need to take the cables

out to see it.

If your husband kept the original packaging the serial number should be printed on that also.

If the cable you use for the iPhone works in getting you access to the keyboard and thus the mac then it should be ok.

It would be best though if you could locate the original cable.

Or you could buy one direct from Apple

No doubt you can probably get a similar product cheaper from a well known on line sales company.

Well, I took all the cables off and can see no sticker but I feel some writing on the underside but it looks like standard copyright type text. So I unplugged all the wires and replugged them and was able to power the machine on.

However, when the monitor comes up to the login and Password, I can't type in anything. The mouse is working but the keyboard doesn't seem to be connected to the computer. Any ideas?
