Can't change my account on App Store login prompt

There - I have a friend who has an M1 MacBook Pro previously owned by her parents. On opening App Store, a login prompt popped up. However the username (which is her parent's) couldn't be edited.

(Note though, in the System Preferences, the device has been re-logged in with the friend's own Apple ID)

I tried my device (MacBook Pro 15" 2017) but I didn't have this problem. Seems like some funny viruses or bugs stuck in my friend's device...

Anyway, could anyone please tell me what's wrong?

You need to explain in detail what she was trying to do.

Is she trying to update an app? She cannot update or redownload any apps bought with her parent's Apple ID. She would need to delete them and buy them with her Apple ID.

M1 Mac mini, macOS 11.5.1; Watch, series 5 GPS/cellular, watchOS 7.6.1; iPad Pro 2nd Gen, iPadOS 14.7.1; iPad Air 2, iPadOS 14.7.1; iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 14.7.1; TV 4th Gen, tvOS 14.7  HomePods, audioOS 14.7 and Airport Express w/ Airplay 2
