Cannot add AZ drivers license to wallet

Has anyone been able to successfully add their driver's license in IOS15? I did the install today, live in AZ, double checked my info in in the apple store and Apple ID to make sure it was my AZ info but no luck. Opened the wallet, hit the plus sign in the upper right but only got options for apply for Apple Card, debit/credit card and transit card. Am I missing a step or setting I need to change?

Thanks

The feature is not yet available to anyone in any state on iPhone. It is coming in a future update. And it will only be supported IF your state opts in to allowing your Drivers License to be stored in Apple Wallet.

To All,

Apple did say that AZ and a few other states were enabled for the License Wallet feature with 15.0. Still not working in 15.0.1.

The AZ App does have a real time certify button, which you could press after starting the App with FaceID or Keypad ID and an acknowledgement comes back that you can show to an officer. I expect all AZ police personal are aware of this. I would never hand over my iPhone to and officer! If this worries you carry you physical ID. I was thinking this would be a good method for travel security validation.

No, Apple said Arizona was a state which has signed on to this feature. They have NOT turned on the feature yet, but it will come in a future update.

It's mid-November 2021, and this is still not available to AZ residents, like me, but our state MVD has an app that allows you to upload a digital photo of your license to your iPhone that is also accepted and secure. I just did so, and it was easy and straight forward. I will probably delete the MVD app and go with Wallet digital image when that become available (not sure I trust the security of the state agency) but this is a good interim action.

Well the App you refer to is available and has been for several months but this does not answer the question about when you can do this by simply using Apple iPhone Wallet App. According to Apple’s response this hasn’t been “turned on” yet even with the release of iOS 15. We were promised that you could even load your Vaccine card as well.

And when Apple turns these features on with updates yet to come, you will get what Apple said it would deliver. Apple never said everything was coming on day one. And like in years past, there were several features not released immediately, but Apple did release them in future updates.

That said, both features will require you live in a state which supports the electronic storage of Drivers Licenses and Vaccination cards to Apple Wallet. If you live in a state which doesn't support one or both, you won't be able to use the feature, even when it is released, unless or until your state supports it.

The App for IOS is the "Arizona Mobile ID". I am running iOS 15 and the version is 2.5.7. Read the description on the App Store. It takes you through the procedure of capturing your face (a bit tedious) and verifying it against your current AZ Driver's License. Once that is done an accepted your license will be available within the App and can be used for verification when needed.

You would think wrongly. Adding something to the wallet essentially certifies that the added object is a true and valid copy. You can only add items to the wallet that are designed to be added to the wallet, because the process of adding them certifies them. You can only add things that have an Add to Wallet button.
