Custom email domain

Can I use custom e-mail domain to replace existing mail service provider? Meaning easily transfer existing IMAP folders, including large inbox? I understand I'll need to maintain domain registration, but would presumably be able to terminate 3rd party "mail hosting" service.

We are planning to switch to another mail server, which is not an exchange service but simply works with IMAP. Take over own domain with iCloud Mail Hopefully a dumb question with a simple answer.... but if I do this, will my outgoing mails end up appearing to be from my domain, rather than xxx@iCloud.com?? This has been holding me back from using iCloud mail services for a long time, so would be a nice improvment...

How do I add my own private domain to the new icloud mail? I received an email that I've been upgraded to icloud+. It says that i can bring my own domain to icloud mail. I already own my own domain, so i just would need to add it to icloud+ mail. Where do i add my own domain's imap and smtp settings to icloud+ mail?? How do i do that?

Yes, you can terminate 3rd party "mail hosting".

To transfer existing mail, I used the Mail app to connect to both then just dragged folders from my 3rd party host (Google) to my iCloud mail account.
