Has anyone else received free ICloud 50gbs

Has anyone gotten an email that says you have been given 50gbs of ICloud.


Dear ( my name )

Great news! We’ve automatically upgraded your 50 GB iCloud storage plan to iCloud+ at no additional charge, and you can now share your subscription with your family. iCloud+ combines everything you already love about iCloud with new features including iCloud Private Relay, Hide My Email, and more HomeKit Secure Video support.


Just curious. Usually I don’t get emails awarding me with something.

With the release of iOS 15, iCloud has now been upgraded to iCloud+. There's nothing additional that you need to do to take advantage of the upgrade. We hope this helps.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. We understand that you have some questions about the new iCloud+ feature and the email that you received. It appears that you may already subscribe to the 50GB iCloud storage plan. This can be verified in Settings whether it's currently listed as iCloud+. Check out the following links.


Upgrade to iCloud+


Identify legitimate emails from the App Store or iTunes Store

I’m not complaining at all. I’m just curious how, what and why I received the email. Again no complaints and thank you for your response. If there’s anyway you can give a quick reply I’d really appreciate it. It was the same day I ordered an iPhone 11 ( 2 days ago ) but it wasn’t through Apple. An amazing deal on the prepaid from a carrier.


Edit : I paid before, just got the email a month or so later.

Maybe there’s a promotion or something ?
