Space for free upgrade in mu icloud

I received an email by September 20, 2021 indicating that I have received an upgrade for free to use a 50G of space of my Icloud. However, today I received an email indicating that my icloud is full. Why I received this email when I was upgraded to 50G space free.?

The upgrade to iCloud+ added the features listed in the email, but not more storage space.
