import ical calendar sync times

Hi I have all apple devices and computer but tend to use google apps.

We rent out a couple of holiday units using airbnb vrbo etc, and take our own bookings on google calendar.

Ical on google can be very slow due apparently to google not checking ical regularly, can take up to 48 hours.

Wondering if apple is any better. i can not see anywhere how often they check for ical updates.

Thanks tim

Hi pambulabeach,

We understand you have questions about syncing the Calendar app on your devices. We're happy to help.

If you're using iCloud to sync your Calendar app across all devices, anytime you add something new to the calendar it will be synced right away. So for example say you add a new event to the Calendar on your Mac, that item will be synced with iCloud right away and will show on your iPhone or whatever other devices you're using the Calendar on. It may take a minute or two for iCloud to sync and update that information on the other devices, but essentially it syncs it "instantly".

You can find more info on using iCloud to sync your Calendar app here: Keep your Calendar up to date with iCloud

We hope this helps. Cheers!

Hi pambulabeach,

Thanks for the follow up!

For your additional question, we'd suggest providing more specific detail. What exactly is "ical"? Is this some sort of third party calendar service you have linked with your Google Calendar and are now trying to link it with the Calendar application on Apple devices?

This information will help the community to better understand exactly what you're trying to do/set up in the Calendar application so members can provide more relevant responses.

Are you talking about just sharing a calendar with someone else, or someone else sharing a calendar with you? If so, here's those steps: Share a calendar on iCloud.com

Shared calendars work the same way as your own calendar in the Calendar application on Apple devices. Changes made to a shared calendar would sync with all devices that are viewing that calendar right away.

The community looks forward to your reply!
