Siri now says “sorry I can’t help with that” with Notes

I use Siri all the time to update my notes (ie “Hey Siri add eggs to my note grocery”) on my phone & HomePod mini speakers. I did this as of yesterday. Now when doing this today (both before and after updating to iOS 15 on iPhone and updating software on HomePods minis) Siri responds and says “sorry I can’t help with that”. Well, it used to…what changed? I’ve searched everywhere and can’t find what happened. Please help.

Yeah, I just noticed today that it's not working for me either. I often send emails to myself while I'm driving as reminders for when I get to my laptop and able to look into what I'm thinking of. I tried it today and was surprised that Siri said she can't help me with that. Very annoying because it's way more safe for Siri to do this for me hands free while I'm driving. I really hope Apply fixes this soon.

I was alerted to this problem by a visually impaired contact and found that I had the same problem with Siri - asked to read emails or send emails the reply was "Sorry, I can't help with that". Having had a long online chat with Apple Support I was told that I'd have to 'manually' read or compose and send emails. I then had a phone conversation with Apple Support which ended abruptly with a disconnection ( not by me!) and with only having been on hold for most of the 18 minutes. I've looked at my GMail account, my Microsoft permissions, that I'd downloaded and very briefly used, but then deleted, the Outlook app, but nothing has restored this important feature on both my iPhone (XR) and iPad. The problem happened simultaneously on both devices without my having changed any settings. It started on iOS 14.7, was not solved by updating to 14.8, and, from other users' experiences, is unlikely to be resolved by going to 15!

At the risk of violating my own critique with the following remark; there’s a a button for that and it’s in plain sight at the beginning of the forum page. Tapping the “Me too” button is the appropriate response for anyone impacted by the same issue as the author. I know I’m not the only one frustrated by countless forum threads inundated with stories of commiseration when in reality, we’re all here seeking solutions or at least fair attempts at resolution versus sifting through pages of “I thought it was just me” or “My sister has the same issue, can anyone help please?”

Thank you, to the author who started this thread and to the good folks who take the time to provide support.
