Interference between WiFi and Apple Pencil (2.4 GHz) and low internet speed

Hello,

I have an IPad Pro 11 2nd Gen and an Apple Pencil 2nd. I experience low internet speed (download / upload). If I turn off Bluetooth, internet speed increases and works at the same values of other devices but my Apple Pencil doesn’t work. My WiFi network works at 2.4 GHz, and as far I have review, this same value is used for Apple Pencil Bluetooth. This fact, both working at same frequency causes interference between WiFi, IPad, and Apple Pencil resulting in low Internet speed.

Is there any way to solve this issue? Sincerely, for me is very difficult to change my WiFi freq to 5 GHz and I have to work with WiFi 2.4 GHz.

I have the exact same problem and now I route my internet through my rooted smartphone (which basically allows me to use wifi and the hotspot at the same time) so this is the only crippled solution right now.

Hello mario49,

I thank you the guides and the info, but the problem persists. I have tried all the steps indicated there and the unique way I found to increase iPads Internet speed is turning off Bluetooth, and in consequence, not using the Apple pencil. For me doesn't have too much sense use the iPad without the Apple pencil, because one of the reasons I bought both (IPad and pencil) was to make drawings for my engineering work. Now I try with workarounds to deal with the issue.

I add the info you ask me for, I hope it can help to solve the problem:

1. Which iPadOS version are you currently using? A. iPadOS 14.8

2. Do you experience this while using other networks? A. I have gone to a friend's house, and they have the same ISP with that works at 2.4 GHz. I experience the same low speed also with there.

3. When did you first notice this? A. I noticed low internet speed since first time I used the Apple pencil and the iPad.

Some additional info:

4. When I listen to music with headphones by Bluetooth and the iPad the condition is intermittent, some time it reach the maximum allowable speed in my network (40 Mbps) and sometimes it is as low as 8 – 10 Mbps.

5. I have other devices and they reach always the maximum possible speed

6. I have other devices connected to WiFi in the same network and they work properly.

If you have any comments or suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.
