catalina 15.7 update crashes internet and Safari

Did Apple ever fix this update problem?? I am resetting up an old machine, I got the message to do this "security" update, so I did it and sure enough, it crashed my internet and Safari. There was a thread going on this earlier. Can I uninstall this update? Is Apple going down the tubes? Some of us are not interested in making our computers look like iPhones or iPad Pros, neither of which I own.
