Temporary Time Sensitive Notifications

Hello,

I'm having a problem with time sensitive notifications in iOS 15, and I'm curious if anyone can help.

Background

I have an iPhone 12 mini, and I recently upgraded to iOS 15. As you can see in the image, below I received a notification this morning for a calendar event called ceiling painting, scheduled for 8:00 AM. Prior to upgrading to iOS 15, if I swiped upward to access the Home Screen and then re-locked the phone, the notification would disappear.

The Problem

In iOS 15, the calendar notification reappears every time I return to the Lock Screen, meaning I see the same notification again and again, rendering it unhelpful at a certain point.

Reviewing the notification settings for Calendar below, my understanding is that time sensitive notifications, like the one shown above, remain on the Lock Screen for an hour.

My Question

Is there a way to set up my notifications to behave like they did in iOS 14? That is, I get a notification on the Lock Screen for a calendar event, and once I unlock the phone and access the Home Screen, the notification will be gone the next time I visit the Lock Screen.

Or, another way of framing the question: is there a way to set up calendar notifications NOT to be time sensitive, so that they disappear after the first time I view them?

Thanks,

Jason
