Can't swipe to open apps or messages, ios 15

I can no longer swipe to open up app notifications or to open up messages. Is this suppose to be happening with iOS 15? Does anyone else have this issue? I try to swipe and it either won't let me, or it swipes to my search screen.

I can’t swipe up, tap, or search anything in the search bar. I’ve tried shutting the phone off and also restarting it, but it still shows this. iPad Messages No Sidebar I just opened Messages and the current conversation was full screen with no sidebar. I’ve no idea how it got that way and I could find no way to get the sidebar back to go to a different conversation. I quit and restarted Messages and it came back the same way then, after a few second, the sidebar magically appeared. Is this a bug or a feature I don’t know how to operate? Thanks in advance.

Wow! Same happens to me and its frustrating!!! I just guess why they did it, and didn’t put as a notification setting.

I am facing the same issue on my iPhone 11 but this feature works just like iOS 14 in my iPhone SE

Smaller less powerful phones behave differently from larger format more powerful phones with the same iOS version. Their take on iOS may be different, certainly a smaller iOS size.
