REmove Apple Mail from iMac

I use Microsoft Office365 on my iMac and across my devices, including Outlook for IOS. I would like to remove Apple Mail from my Mac as I don't use it but anytime i hit a hyperlink email address, it opens the Apple Mail app. Its annoying and i could use the additional space
