After Upgrade to Big Sur 11.6 can no longer add contacts to Apple Contacts

System looks like it will let me add new contact but as soon as I move off name field it pulls up random contact and never saves new name.

Discovered that if I selected iCloud as my default rather then Gmail for Contacts and then added contacts under my iCloud tab that they were added without issue. I went back and tried to add contact to my Gmail tab and it fails every time. My guess is that Contacts is no longer compatible with Gmail using the latest release.
