Sound Issues with Logitech C270 Webcam

Hi, all -

I just bought a new 2020 Mac Mini, and bought a Logitech C270 webcam to use with it.

I did a video call with my sister on Facebook and there were some sound issues. The sound started fine but after a while she sounded distorted, and she said my voice sounded overmodulated and she heard everything I said twice, as if there was an echo.

My monitor is an Acer Nitro XF3 XF243Y. My monitor doesn't have a microphone, and I know the Mini doesn't, so we can't figure out why she was hearing everything I said twice. The call would start out fine but soon the sound would go bad.

I've checked all of my sound settings but couldn't find anything to solve the issue, and wanted to ask here in case anybody had any ideas.

Thanks!

Hello KayMichigan,

We understand when using your external webcam the sound on both ends are distorted. We'd be happy to assist you with this.

When this issue occurred, was it a one time occurrence? Is this happening if you try to make a video? If you're using more than one app for video usage does the issue continue? Have you checked for any available updates for your Mac and if all drivers were installed for the webcam?

Please provide us as much information as possible.
