No iPad keyboard

I was asked to check a new piece of information before it was posted on web. There were questions with a big gap between them, where I was to type responses. This became impossible as I could not get the onscreen keyboard to appear. I have turned Bluetooth off completely in Settings. I have no other keyboard that I can use. HELP!!!! ( no Bluetooth problem as I have not got a Bluetooth keyboard, and never had one. This is not helped by my age and lack of technical knowledge. I need very simple instructions to remedy this)

For older iPad models with a Home button, do a simple hard reset of your iPad by

holding down both the Home and sleep/wake/power button simultaneously until

your iPad goes to black and restarts with Apple logo, then release the buttons.

Good Luck to You!`
