CarPlay reboots with iPhone 13

So, just picked up a new iPhone 13 pro. CarPlay works in multiple vehicles for one important feature. If I try to play music the phone kicks CarPlay off and it has to reconnect.

tried all guidance and all settings where copied over from iPhone 11 where it worked perfectly fine. Please not, navigation, Siri, phone calls and creating messages still work fine. Only audio apps will somehow force a reboot. Tried with Apple Music, SoundCloud and audiobooks. All the same effect.
